Used RVs Temple TX: 400+ Affordable RVs and Trailers
Welcome to RV Depot, the dealership Temple TX families come to when they want real options instead of a runaround. We keep more than 400 used RVs and travel trailers on 20 acres in Cleburne, Texas, and we have been doing this since 1990.
If you are searching for used RVs Temple TX, travel trailers for sale near Temple, fifth wheels, bunkhouse floorplans or a toy hauler you can actually live in, you can walk the whole lot in one afternoon and compare them side by side. Everything is in one place, the prices are on the units, and our in house financing means your credit history is the start of the conversation instead of the end of it.
Why Temple Residents Choose RV Depot
Temple sits about 111 miles from our Cleburne lot, right at an hour and three quarters by way of Interstate 35, which makes a Saturday trip easy to pull off and still be home for dinner.
With about 98,000 residents and an economy built on healthcare, manufacturing, distribution and the railroad, Temple is full of working families who earn a steady paycheck and still get turned down by traditional lenders. That is exactly who we built this dealership for.
Here is the squeeze in Temple. Median rent runs about $1,231 a month, close to $14,800 a year, against a median household income near $68,204. That is more than a fifth of gross pay going out the door before a single other bill is covered.
Buying out of it is the harder part. The typical Temple home runs about $239,000, right at three and a half times what a median household here earns in a year, and close to half of Temple households rent rather than own.
The reason people make the drive is simple. Rent in Bell County keeps climbing and the math stopped working a while ago. An RV gives a family a place of their own with a monthly payment that often lands at or below what a local apartment costs, and it belongs to you at the end.
We finance in house, so we make the decision ourselves rather than mailing your file off and waiting. A credit report is where the conversation starts here, not where it ends.

Living in Temple, Texas: A Railroad Town That Became a Hospital Town
Temple sits in Bell County on Interstate 35, about sixty five miles north of Austin. Roughly 98,000 people live here. It started as a railroad camp and turned into one of the biggest medical centers between Dallas and Austin, which is an unusual path for a Texas town of this size.
The Santa Fe Built It
In 1880 a man named Jonathan E. Moore sold 187 acres to the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe for a construction camp. The railroad named the place after its chief engineer, Bernard Moore Temple, and the town incorporated in 1882.
The Santa Fe made Temple a division point and put its shops here, which brought several hundred families at once. By 1884 there were about 3,000 people, with churches, banks, newspapers and a waterworks already in place.
Then the Hospitals Came
The railroad built a hospital in 1891. King’s Daughters followed in 1897, Scott and White in 1904, and the Veterans Administration opened one here in 1942. That stack of institutions turned a rail town into a regional medical center.
Baylor Scott and White Health is now the largest employer in the area by a wide margin, and the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System sits right alongside it. A lot of Temple works in or around a hospital.
And It Still Makes Things
Temple is the world headquarters for both McLane Company, one of the largest food service distributors in the country, and Wilsonart International, which makes surfacing material. H-E-B runs a large operation here as well.
That mix of hospitals, distribution and manufacturing is steadier than most Central Texas towns get. For time off, Belton Lake and Stillhouse Hollow Lake are both a few minutes west, and the old downtown around the depot has been filling back in.
Long Term RV Parks Near Temple, TX
Owning the RV is one half of the plan. Rates, availability and age restrictions change constantly, so call ahead and confirm monthly pricing, hookups, rig length limits and whether they allow the year the unit was built.

Parks set their own limits on length, age and hookups, so call the one you have in mind and ask what they allow before you settle on a floorplan. Walking in knowing your max length narrows the lot down fast.
Financing Built for Hardworking Families
Most dealerships send your application to an outside bank and wait. We do not. RV Depot finances in house, which means we look at your whole situation instead of one number on a report. Steady income, a workable down payment and a plan you can live with carry real weight here. If you have been denied somewhere else, that denial does not follow you through our door.
- In house financing with all credit situations welcome, including first time buyers with no credit history
- Approval decisions made by our own team, not an out of state lender
- Flexible down payment options, and we will tell you honestly what yours needs to be
- Fast answers, usually the same day you apply
- Payment structures built around a real budget instead of a best case scenario
- A path forward for buyers coming off a repossession, a bankruptcy or a rough couple of years
You can start your application online before you drive over, which saves you time once you are here. Paperwork is finished in person at the dealership, so plan on spending at least one day on the lot. That same day you get a personal walkthrough of your RV with a technician who shows you everything working before you head home.

400+ Quality Used RVs Under One Roof
Twenty acres, more than 400 units, and one of the largest pre owned RV inventories in Texas. That size is the whole point. You are not looking at three trailers and hoping one fits. You can stand in a dozen floorplans in an hour, compare a bunkhouse against a rear living layout, see what a fifth wheel feels like next to a travel trailer, and figure out what actually suits your family before you sign anything.
Once a unit is yours it goes through our shop before your pickup day, where the mechanical side gets checked over so the things that are not cosmetic are working. We would rather sell you the right unit once than the wrong unit today, especially when you are buying a place to live rather than a weekend toy.
Browse our current inventory or call and tell us your budget, your tow vehicle and how many people need to sleep in it. We will narrow 400 units down to the handful worth your drive from Temple.
Frequently Asked Questions
Get straightforward answers about visiting RV Depot from Temple, applying for financing, comparing housing costs, and choosing an RV that fits your family.
Does RV Depot have a dealership in Temple?
No. We have one location, 4319 N. Main St. in Cleburne, Texas, and we serve Temple buyers from there. Everything sits on one 20 acre lot, which is the whole reason the drive is worth making once instead of shopping three small lots near home.
Why would I drive from Temple to RV Depot?
Two reasons. Selection, because we keep more than 400 used RVs and travel trailers in one place, and financing, because we finance in house and make the decision ourselves. If an outside lender has already turned you down, that second reason is usually the one that matters.
Can I apply before coming from Temple?
Yes, and you should. Start the application online and we can tell you roughly where you stand before you spend a day driving. Paperwork is finished in person at the dealership, so plan on wrapping up at the lot the day you choose your unit.
Can RV Depot help if my credit is not strong?
That is most of who we work with. Because we finance in house, we look at your income, your down payment and your whole situation rather than one number on a report. Past credit trouble does not end the conversation here.
How much down payment will I need?
It depends on the unit and on your situation, so there is no single number we can post honestly. Call us with your budget and the kind of unit you are after and we will tell you what yours looks like before you make the drive.
What income does RV Depot consider?
Steady income you can document is what matters most. Bring paperwork for all of your household income and we will tell you what counts toward your application. If you are not sure whether something qualifies, ask us on the phone rather than guessing.
Can my family live comfortably in an RV?
Plenty of families do it, and the floorplan is what decides whether it works. Bunkhouse models give the kids their own sleeping space, and fifth wheels give you the most living area of anything we carry. Tell us how many people need to sleep in it and we will point you at the layouts that actually hold up day to day.
Should I improve my credit before applying?
You do not have to wait on us to find out. Because the financing is ours, you can apply now, hear exactly where you stand, and then decide for yourself whether waiting buys you anything. Plenty of people are further along than they assume.
What documents should I bring?
Proof of income, a valid photo ID, and a realistic idea of your down payment and the monthly number you can carry. That is enough to get a real answer the same day.
Can I see current RV prices before visiting?
Yes. Our inventory is online with prices on the units, so you can pick out what you want from Temple without driving anywhere first. You can go through the process from home, and a deposit will hold the unit so it is yours while you set up the trip down. If you would rather shop in person, call and tell us your budget, your tow vehicle and how many people need to sleep in it, and we will have a list ready to walk.
Ready to Make the Drive From Temple?
Shop the inventory online and pick out what you want from there, or call first so we can put a list together and walk you right to those units on the lot. Most families from Temple knock out the whole visit in one afternoon.
