Used RVs Sweetwater TX: 400+ Affordable RVs and Trailers

Welcome to RV Depot. We keep more than 400 used RVs and travel trailers on 20 acres in Cleburne, Texas, a straight shot down I 20 from Sweetwater, and we have been doing this since 1990. If you are searching for used RVs Sweetwater TX, travel trailers for sale near Sweetwater, fifth wheels, bunkhouse floorplans or a toy hauler you can actually live in, you can walk the whole lot in one afternoon and compare them side by side. Everything is in one place, the prices are on the units, and our in house financing means your credit history is the start of the conversation instead of the end of it.

Why Sweetwater Residents Choose RV Depot

Sweetwater is about 200 miles from our Cleburne lot, right at three and three quarter hours, and it is I 20 the entire way with Abilene the only town of any size in between. If you are working out here you already know that road. Sweetwater has about 10,000 residents, a wind industry that reshaped Nolan County, gypsum plants that have run since the 1920s, and forty miles east of here Abilene has become one of the places where gigawatt scale AI infrastructure is getting built. All of that work brings in crews. Not many of those crews want to spend another year in a hotel.

Run the number you are actually spending. Crews tell us they are burning $3,000 to $5,000 a month on hotels, and every dollar of it is gone the day you check out. A used travel trailer or fifth wheel turns that same money into something with your name on the title, and when the project ends you hitch it up and take your housing to the next one. You keep more of the per diem. You get your own kitchen, your own shower and your own door that locks. And your family can come out and stay instead of seeing you every third weekend.

And here is the part outside lenders never seem to understand. Men on these crews clear $90,000 to $180,000 with overtime, per diem and shutdown work, and plenty of them still get declined, because construction income is lumpy year to year and because life happens: a divorce, a layoff, a stretch of medical bills. We finance in house. That means we look at what you actually earn and what you can actually carry, not one number on a report written by somebody who has never worked a turnaround.

Living in Sweetwater: Wind, Rattlesnakes and I 20

Sweetwater is a West Texas working town that has reinvented itself more than once. It was a railroad town, then a gypsum and cement town, then an oil town, and in the last twenty years it became one of the biggest wind energy producers in the state. What has not changed is the kind of people it attracts: crews who show up, do hard work for good money, and move on to the next one.

Wind, Gypsum, and the Build Forty Miles East

The Roscoe Wind Farm went up between 2007 and 2009 and put 627 turbines across 100,000 acres of Nolan, Mitchell and Scurry counties. That project changed the county, and the maintenance work it created never went away, because turbines need techs for as long as they stand. United States Gypsum has run a plant near Sweetwater since 1924. Texas State Technical College put its Rolling Plains campus four miles west of town in 1970 and trains the trades that keep all of it turning.

Then there is Abilene, forty minutes east on I 20, where Lancium is developing gigawatt scale clean campuses built to feed AI data centers. Between the wind, the plants and that build, West Texas is pulling in electricians, instrumentation techs, millwrights, pipefitters and ironworkers faster than a town of 10,000 can house them.

Where the Women Airforce Service Pilots Learned to Fly

Sweetwater became the Nolan County seat in 1881, the year the Texas and Pacific Railway arrived, and the railroad shops paid the bills here for generations. Then in 1943 the Army Air Force sent the Women Airforce Service Pilots to train at the field just outside town. They were the first women in American history to fly military aircraft, and they learned it here, in Sweetwater. The town peaked at 13,914 people in 1960 and has settled at about 10,000 since. It is smaller than it was and entirely unbothered by that.

The Rattlesnake Round-Up and a Town That Means It

Since 1958 Sweetwater has hosted the World’s Largest Rattlesnake Round-Up at the Nolan County Coliseum in Newman Park, and it is the single biggest thing that happens in the county every year. ESPN has covered it. Outside of March there is cotton, sorghum, wheat and hay, cattle and sheep and Angora goats, and a lot of open sky. If you are here on a project rather than for good, Sweetwater is an easy place to be: cheap, friendly, right on the interstate, and close enough to Abilene that you are never truly stuck.

Financing Built for Hardworking Families

Most dealerships send your application to an outside bank and wait. We do not. RV Depot finances in house, which means we look at your whole situation instead of one number on a report. Steady income, a workable down payment and a plan you can live with carry real weight here. If you have been denied somewhere else, that denial does not follow you through our door.

  • In house financing with all credit situations welcome, including first time buyers with no credit history
  • Approval decisions made by our own team, not an out of state lender
  • Flexible down payment options, and we will tell you honestly what yours needs to be
  • Fast answers, usually the same day you apply
  • Payment structures built around a real budget instead of a best case scenario
  • A path forward for buyers coming off a repossession, a bankruptcy or a rough couple of years

You can start your application online before you drive over, which saves you time once you are here. Paperwork is finished in person at the dealership, so plan on wrapping it up at the lot the day you pick your unit. Start your application and we will have an answer ready when you arrive.

400+ Quality Used RVs Under One Roof

Twenty acres, more than 400 units, and one of the largest pre owned RV inventories in Texas. That size is the whole point. You are not looking at three trailers and hoping one fits. You can stand in a dozen floorplans in an hour, compare a bunkhouse against a rear living layout, see what a fifth wheel feels like next to a travel trailer, and figure out what actually suits your family before you sign anything.

Travel TrailersEasy to tow with a half ton truck and the most affordable way into RV ownership. Great first unit.
Fifth WheelsThe most living space of anything we carry, with a raised bedroom and residential feel. Our top pick for full time living.
Bunkhouse FloorplansSeparate sleeping space for the kids. If you are moving a family into an RV, start here.
Toy HaulersA garage that doubles as a workshop, gear storage or an extra room. Popular with trades and anyone hauling equipment.

Every unit on the lot gets looked over by our team before it goes up for sale, and we are straight with you about condition. If a trailer needs something, you will hear it from us first. We would rather sell you the right unit once than the wrong unit today, especially when you are buying a place to live rather than a weekend toy.

Browse our current inventory or call and tell us your budget, your tow vehicle and how many people need to sleep in it. We will narrow 400 units down to the handful worth your drive from Sweetwater.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get straightforward answers about visiting RV Depot from Sweetwater, applying for financing, comparing housing costs, and choosing an RV that fits your family.

Does RV Depot have a dealership in Sweetwater?

No. We have one location, 4319 N. Main St. in Cleburne, Texas, and we serve Sweetwater buyers from there. Everything sits on one 20 acre lot, which is the whole reason the drive is worth making once instead of shopping three small lots near home.

Why would I drive from Sweetwater to RV Depot?

Two reasons. Selection, because we keep more than 400 used RVs and travel trailers in one place, and financing, because we finance in house and make the decision ourselves. If an outside lender has already turned you down, that second reason is usually the one that matters.

Can I apply before coming from Sweetwater?

Yes, and you should. Start the application online and we can tell you roughly where you stand before you spend a day driving. Paperwork is finished in person at the dealership, so plan on wrapping up at the lot the day you choose your unit.

Can RV Depot help if my credit is not strong?

That is most of who we work with. Because we finance in house, we look at your income, your down payment and your whole situation rather than one number on a report. Past credit trouble does not end the conversation here.

How much down payment will I need?

It depends on the unit and on your situation, so there is no single number we can post honestly. Call us with your budget and the kind of unit you are after and we will tell you what yours looks like before you make the drive.

What income does RV Depot consider?

Steady income you can document is what matters most. Bring paperwork for all of your household income and we will tell you what counts toward your application. If you are not sure whether something qualifies, ask us on the phone rather than guessing.

Can my family live comfortably in an RV?

Plenty of families do it, and the floorplan is what decides whether it works. Bunkhouse models give the kids their own sleeping space, and fifth wheels give you the most living area of anything we carry. Tell us how many people need to sleep in it and we will point you at the layouts that actually hold up day to day.

Should I improve my credit before applying?

You do not have to wait on us to find out. Because the financing is ours, you can apply now, hear exactly where you stand, and then decide for yourself whether waiting buys you anything. Plenty of people are further along than they assume.

What documents should I bring?

Proof of income, a valid photo ID, and a realistic idea of your down payment and the monthly number you can carry. That is enough to get a real answer the same day.

Can I see current RV prices before visiting?

Yes. Our inventory is online with prices on the units, so you can narrow things down from Sweetwater before you drive anywhere. Call and tell us your budget, your tow vehicle and how many people need to sleep in it, and we will shortlist the handful worth the trip.
