Everything is in one place, the prices are on the units, and our in house financing means your credit history is the start of the conversation instead of the end of it.
Why Big Spring Residents Choose RV Depot
Big Spring sits about 266 miles from our Cleburne lot, right at four hours by way of Interstate 20. That is a planned trip rather than an errand, so most people coming in from Big Spring call ahead, tell us what they are after, and walk up to a short list already pulled and waiting.
Big Spring runs on oil and gas, refining, rail and agribusiness, and a lot of the people doing that work rotated in from somewhere else. Housing is the part nobody out here ever solved well.
Here is the math nobody runs out loud. A room or a camp bunk in Big Spring is money you hand over every month and never see again, and the rate climbs whenever the rigs pick up.
Buying here is cheap by Texas standards. The typical home runs about $140,200 against a median household income near $67,581, barely two years of pay. That ratio tells you the pressure in this town is not about getting into a house. It is about everybody who is only here for the job.
Howard County is not an expensive place to buy a house. It is an expensive place to be temporary. Put the money you are already handing over for a room against an RV you own and two things change. The payment goes toward something with your name on it, and the housing follows you to the next job instead of ending when the project does.
We finance in house, which matters when your income swings with the season and the shutdown schedule. We make the call ourselves instead of mailing your file to a bank that only reads a score.

Living in Big Spring, Texas: A Railroad Town in the Oil Patch
Big Spring grew up around a watering place in Sulphur Draw that gave the town its name, a stop on the old expedition routes. Ranchers arrived in the late 1870s alongside hide huts and saloons serving buffalo hunters. The Texas and Pacific came through in 1880 and the whole settlement moved to the tracks.
Rail Shops, Then Oil
Big Spring became a railroad town first, with shops and a station, and Howard County organized around it in 1882. Oil turned up in 1926 and by 1936 there were better than eight hundred producing wells in the surrounding fields.
A state hospital opened in 1939, a bombardier school in 1942, and Webb Air Force Base ran from 1951 until it closed in 1977. The base land became an industrial park and the town kept working.
Still an Oil Town
Big Spring remains an agribusiness and petrochemical center, with refining, Union Pacific rail operations and a growing logistics and distribution base. The hospital network and Howard College are the largest steady employers in town.
Most of the people who fill the RV parks here are not from here. They are operators, welders, pipefitters, drivers and hands who rotate in on a hitch, work the project and move on when it ends. Housing has never caught up with that.
Scenic Mountain and a Lot of Horizon
Big Spring State Park sits on top of a limestone bluff right at the edge of town, with a three mile loop road around the rim and a view that runs out past the county line. It is the best thirty minutes in Howard County.
Beyond that it is I-20, big sky and distance. Midland is about forty miles west, Lubbock is a couple of hours north, and Dallas is the far end of the interstate.

Financing Built for Hardworking Families
Most dealerships send your application to an outside bank and wait. We do not. RV Depot finances in house, which means we look at your whole situation instead of one number on a report. Steady income, a workable down payment and a plan you can live with carry real weight here. If you have been denied somewhere else, that denial does not follow you through our door.
- In house financing with all credit situations welcome, including first time buyers with no credit history
- Approval decisions made by our own team, not an out of state lender
- Flexible down payment options, and we will tell you honestly what yours needs to be
- Fast answers, usually the same day you apply
- Payment structures built around a real budget instead of a best case scenario
- A path forward for buyers coming off a repossession, a bankruptcy or a rough couple of years
You can get a head start right here, before you drive over. Paperwork is finished in person at the dealership, so plan on wrapping it up at the lot the day you pick your unit, but the hard part can be behind you by then. Prefer to fill out the full application instead? Start it here.

400+ Quality Used RVs Under One Roof
Twenty acres, more than 400 units, and one of the largest pre owned RV inventories in Texas. That size is the whole point. You are not looking at three trailers and hoping one fits. You can stand in a dozen floorplans in an hour, compare a bunkhouse against a rear living layout, see what a fifth wheel feels like next to a travel trailer, and figure out what actually suits your family before you sign anything.
Every unit on the lot gets looked over by our team before it goes up for sale, and we are straight with you about condition. If a trailer needs something, you will hear it from us first. We would rather sell you the right unit once than the wrong unit today, especially when you are buying a place to live rather than a weekend toy.
Browse our current inventory or call and tell us your budget, your tow vehicle and how many people need to sleep in it. We will narrow 400 units down to the handful worth your drive from Big Spring.
Frequently Asked Questions
Get straightforward answers about visiting RV Depot from Big Spring, applying for financing, comparing housing costs, and choosing an RV that fits your family.
Does RV Depot have a dealership in Big Spring?
No. We have one location, 4319 N. Main St. in Cleburne, Texas, and we serve Big Spring buyers from there. Everything sits on one 20 acre lot, which is the whole reason the drive is worth making once instead of shopping three small lots near home.
Why would I drive from Big Spring to RV Depot?
Two reasons. Selection, because we keep more than 400 used RVs and travel trailers in one place, and financing, because we finance in house and make the decision ourselves. If an outside lender has already turned you down, that second reason is usually the one that matters.
Can I apply before coming from Big Spring?
Yes, and you should. Start the application online and we can tell you roughly where you stand before you spend a day driving. Paperwork is finished in person at the dealership, so plan on wrapping up at the lot the day you choose your unit.
Can RV Depot help if my credit is not strong?
That is most of who we work with. Because we finance in house, we look at your income, your down payment and your whole situation rather than one number on a report. Past credit trouble does not end the conversation here.
How much down payment will I need?
It depends on the unit and on your situation, so there is no single number we can post honestly. Call us with your budget and the kind of unit you are after and we will tell you what yours looks like before you make the drive.
What income does RV Depot consider?
Steady income you can document is what matters most. Bring paperwork for all of your household income and we will tell you what counts toward your application. If you are not sure whether something qualifies, ask us on the phone rather than guessing.
Can my family live comfortably in an RV?
Plenty of families do it, and the floorplan is what decides whether it works. Bunkhouse models give the kids their own sleeping space, and fifth wheels give you the most living area of anything we carry. Tell us how many people need to sleep in it and we will point you at the layouts that actually hold up day to day.
Should I improve my credit before applying?
You do not have to wait on us to find out. Because the financing is ours, you can apply now, hear exactly where you stand, and then decide for yourself whether waiting buys you anything. Plenty of people are further along than they assume.
What documents should I bring?
Proof of income, a valid photo ID, and a realistic idea of your down payment and the monthly number you can carry. That is enough to get a real answer the same day.
Can I see current RV prices before visiting?
Yes. Our inventory is online with prices on the units, so you can narrow things down from Big Spring before you drive anywhere. Call and tell us your budget, your tow vehicle and how many people need to sleep in it, and we will shortlist the handful worth the trip.
Ready to Make the Drive From Big Spring?
Call first so we can pull units that match what you need, then come walk the lot. It is a real drive from Big Spring, so make it count. Tell us your budget and your tow vehicle ahead of time and we will have a short list standing by when you pull in.
